This is a pretty, quality original vintage braid with central rope twist core and pretty filligree scalloped base. It was manufactured in now ceased textile factories & mills of Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire. 
It was specifically made for lampshade makers though can be used for other soft furnishings, clothing and crafts.
