This is fabulous quality pure silk l bias tape that was originally manufactured for the lampshade industry (used to cover seam joins on struts and top/bottom wires).
It is fused to an interfacing strip but can be pealed away from the interfacing. Note that this does leave a slightly ragged edge (see image) but this is completely obscured when folded back - and I’ve found it blends well on the finished item by not being a harsh edge.
